Dear Mr. Lazaruk:
This letter is provided to confirm the role of your company in providing specific aircraft type training to pilots who seek aircraft type endorsements on their Canadian pilot licences.
CARs Standard 421.40(3)(a) specifies the requirements for individual type ratings on aeroplanes requiring a crew of two pilots. The standard states, in part, that the applicant must complete ground and flight training on the aeroplane type and pass a pilot proficiency check (PPC) on the aeroplane type within the 12 months preceding the application for the rating. The applicant shall have completed a qualifying flight in the aeroplane type.
Active Aerospace Inc. has received an acknowledgement from Transport Canada that the company may provide the ground and flight training using level A or B simulators. The skill requirement may be met using a level C or D simulator. Training done to meet these conditions would meet the requirements of CARs for the issue of a type rating.
The person providing the type training must meet the requirements of CARs 425.21 (7). The PPC is to be conducted by either a Transport Canada inspector or a check pilot who has been approved by Transport Canada to perform these checks for Active Aerospace Inc.
Specific type endorsement training will be acknowledged by Transport Canada upon receipt and approval of course syllabus for each aircraft type. To date, we have received course syllabi from your company pertaining to the following aircraft types
                Boeing 737-200
                Boeing 737-300
                Boeing 737-400
                Boeing 737-500
                Boeing 757
                Boeing 767
                Airbus A319
                Airbus A320
                Airbus A321
